Anne is a research student at the University of Glasgow, supervised by Prof George Pattison. She is currently working on an MRes dissertation on Iris Murdoch and K. E. Løgstrup with a special emphasis on the idea of ethics as ontologically founded. As part of this research project, she investigates the idea of fiction as a moral educator, referring to the idea that the realm of aesthetics has a unique capability of silently pointing towards the rationally inconceivable sense of love and the Good as existential conditions.
Before joining the University of Glasgow, she was a student at Aarhus University in Denmark where she graduated with a degree in History of Ideas and Anthropology. During her studies in Denmark she developed a special interest in Søren Kierkegaard, Christian existentialism and moral philosophy. In Aarhus, she also taught ancient and medieval philosophy as a graduate teaching assistant. More recently she has been a visiting student at Freiburg Universität where she studied Heidegger and the conception of freedom in the German idealist movement.
